As you may be aware, the Academic Collective Agreement contains language that gives priority hiring consideration for partial load assignments to partial load employees who meet the stipulated requirements relating to service and experience teaching the courses that make up the partial load assignment.
Through the most recent collective bargaining process, this language was modified to include a requirement for partial load employees to register their interest in being employed as a partial load employee by October 30 for the following calendar year. The article also provides a transitional period in that all partial load employees who had partial load assignments from September 1 to December 31, 2017 are deemed to have registered for the 2018/19 academic year. Through a local agreement with OPSEU 244, Sheridan will extend the deemed to have registered period to December 31, 2019.
Partial load employees who were deemed to have registered have been notified through a direct email to their Sheridan email account. No further action is required on their part.
For all other non full-time faculty, to register for the partial load registry for the 2019 calendar year (January-December 2019) you must do so prior to October 30, 2018 as per the process below.

“This is my request to be added to the Partial Load Registry for January to December 2019. My Employee ID is XXX-XXX-XXX”
*Employee’s can locate their employee on the top of their Pay Advice or Employment Contracts
Important Notes:
1. The registry will close at midnight on October 30, 2018. You will not be eligible to register for the 2019 calendar year after October 30, 2018. However, we encourage you to register your interest as soon as possible.
2. Registering for a partial load contract does not guarantee that you will receive a partial load contract. Registering shows you are interested in receiving a partial load contract. If the College decides to offer partial load contracts, you must also meet the qualifying criteria in Article 26.10 E to be considered for the partial load contract.
