Sheridan alumnus Zaib Shaikh (Theatre and Drama Studies ’97) has been appointed Canada’s consul general in Los Angeles. The post, which he will assume in November, makes him Canada’s top diplomat in the city. He’ll be charged with representing Canada’s cultural interests in Hollywood.
Since graduating from Sheridan, the former star of Little Mosque on the Prairie has held a number of high profile positions. He currently serves as the film commissioner for Toronto, and has represented Canadian entertainment interests on several trips to Los Angeles.
He has also continued his connection to Sheridan, providing a keynote address at the 2016 Convocation.
