Sheridan is delivering on its commitment to supporting First Nations, Metis and Inuit students’ success with a new Admissions Policy and Procedure (effective September 2018).
The new policy will identify designated seats for Indigenous applicants, as well as support structures for the application, admission and transition process. To qualify for consideration the Indigenous Applicant must:
- Self-identify as an Indigenous Applicant on the Application for Admission at ontariocolleges.ca and/or with the Centre for Indigenous Learning and Support
- Meet the definition of an Indigenous Applicant with documentation which will be submitted to the Admissions Office
- Meet the minimum admission requirements as indicated in the general admission requirements for Sheridan as well as any program level admission requirements or supplemental assignments
On November 26, the Office of the Registrar and the Centre for Indigenous Learning and Support launched an online form allowing students and applicants to self-identify as Indigenous through myStudent Centre.
The information captured in the form will be used for Ministry reporting purposes and will help direct the work of Sheridan’s Admissions team and the Center for Indigenous Learning & Support.
