Clik here to view.Library & Learning Services staff have been making some BIG changes over the past few months. You won’t want to miss out on these new and improved resources for you and your students!
Tutoring Success Stories
Over the past term, tutoring staff curated stories from real Sheridan students who benefited from tutoring services. And now, these stories are proudly displayed on the Tutoring homepage! In addition, we’ve made it easier than ever to connect with the services offered by the Tutoring Centre, through a complete reorganization of our content. We hope you find these changes helpful!

‘Cite it Right’ Gets a Redesign
The Cite It Right Guide has become an important go-to resource for faculty and students with over 144,462 views since January 2018. The guide provides the Sheridan community with access to guidelines and examples of citation styles including ACS, APA, AMA, Chicago, McGill, and MLA.
In our commitment to quality, we’ve seen a need to update the guide’s content and design. Changes that you can expect to see on the new and improved Cite It Right Guide include:
- Links to individual guides for each citation style
- Streamlined page design and left-hand navigation for each style guide
In addition, we have expanded the APA Style Guide to include general guidelines for page formatting, authors, dates, titles, and URLS, and we’ve linked to key content from the APA Style Blog and APA Academic Writer.
Please contact Karen Lints, FAHCS Librarian, with your feedback.
Two New Modules to Boost Academic Skills
We’ve added two new online modules that we trust will quickly become key resources for time management and note-taking skills. The modules explore common challenges students face or experience, practical methods to overcome challenges, and resources for faculty to use in class, such as presentations and activities.
Each module can be embedded into Slate or can be found on the Research & Academic Skills Quickstart Guide. Please contact Jamie Goodfellow, First-Year Academic Skills Librarian, if you have any questions.
