The “Making Ontario Open for Business Act”, Bill 47, was passed at the end of 2018, revising some sections of the Employment Standards Act, 2000 (ESA).
Some sections are unchanged such as, public holiday pay and vacation pay, while sections pertaining to personal emergency leave and equal pay for equal work have been repealed. The changes were effective January 1, 2019.
