Occupational Health and Safety Services and Security would like to remind its colleagues that there are dedicated First Aid Rooms present at all campuses:
- Trafalgar Campus: Inside the Security Office on the first floor of B-Wing (next to the OneCard Office)
- Davis Campus: Inside the Security Office in C216
- HMC: Across from the Security Office in B167
First Aid Rooms are fully equipped to handle injuries that require first aid. First Aid Rooms are monitored 24 hours a day, seven days per week by Security personnel, who are trained in first aid and mental health first aid. Security personnel can also call 911 for injuries requiring Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and escort the EMS staff directly to the location where the injured party is present.
If you or the injured party are unable to reach the First Aid Room, contact Security who will attend to you at your location. When necessary, please do not hesitate to contact 911 directly. Any calls to 911 using a Sheridan landline telephone will automatically alert Security.
We would also like to take this opportunity to remind you that the Health Centres on campus are dedicated resources to Sheridan students only. While Health Centres can provide first aid and accommodate walk-ins for students, we ask that referrals to the Health Centre be made only when the severity of the injury requires treatment by a nurse or a physician.
For most minor injuries, Sheridan has first aid kits and a team of certified first aid providers throughout the campus. A list of our current First Aiders and their locations can be found here. Please feel free to contact Security or any of the certified first aid providers for help, then inform your manager. It is important that all incidents, including minor injuries, are reported to your manager and the incident is documented using the Sheridan Incident Investigation Report form. If a student in your class receives first aid treatment, please ask the student to fill out the form and send it to OHS Services.
