Aanii, Kwe, Sekoli, Sago! Greetings!
The new Aboriginal Initiatives office will be officially opening at the end of March. This new initiative is in partnership with the Mohawk College Aboriginal Education and Student Services, in response to Sheridan’s invitation. Our Aboriginal Initiatives team has been busy setting up and greeting students and staff in B127 at Trafalgar Campus. The introduction of Smudging Ceremony has been received enthusiastically, as was an Elders visit and orientation on Wednesday, March 19.
Our official launch will take place on Thursday, March 27 in the SCAET Lecture Hall (room S235), with a screening of the documentary BridgeWalkers. Elder Dave Courchene from the Turtle Lodge in Manitoba will be present for a Q&A after the film. For a preview of the film, please visit: http://vimeo.com/59527474
