Sheridan’s Faculty of Animation, Arts and Design is seeking proposals for our annual Temporary Contemporary Art Installation on our Oakville campus.
In 2012, our inaugural installation was Derek Sullivan’s Endless Kiosk. The following year, we sponsored a vitrine installation, Dopplekopf, by Roula Partheniou, pictured here as it was being installed by the artist.
This project is meant to invigorate our public spaces with innovative and enriching art work that will stimulate discussion within our campus community. Artists are invited to respond to one of five identified sites.
A six-member selection committee made up of representatives from Sheridan and from the larger arts community will assess all proposals. Three proposals will be shortlisted. Each of the three finalists will be awarded $500 and invited to tour the campus and to present their proposal. The final candidate selected will receive $7,000 plus a shipping expense allowance.
The deadline for submission of proposals is Friday, May 2, 2014 at 12 pm. Installation will take place during the last two weeks of August 2014.
