Annual Oakville Literacy Council Book Fair

It’s that time again! Too many books? Bring them to us. Donate gently used books to Oakville Literacy Council’s 2014 Spring Used Book Sale Fundraiser.

Book Sale June 5 to 8 at Queen Elizabeth Park Community and Cultural Centre, 2302 Bridge Road, Oakville (Bronte) in the Rehearsal Hall.

BOOK DONATION TIMES: The public can drop off books at QEPCCC at the following times. QEP will not accept books at other times.

  • Mondays starting April 28: 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., and 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.
  • Wednesdays 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
  • Fridays 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.
  • Saturdays 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. ending May 31.

BOOKSALE DATES AND TIMES June 5 – 8, 2014

  • Thursday June 5: 6 p.m. – 10 p.m.
  • Friday June 6: 9 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.
  • Saturday June 7: 9 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.
  • Sunday June 8: 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Volunteers Needed:

  • Sorting shifts: April 28 – May 31
  • Booksale shifts June 5 – 8
  • Set up: Thursday June 5: 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.
  • Take Down: Sunday June 8: 1 p.m. – 6 p.m. Strong helpers needed to transport books to the utility room. Many volunteers needed to pack up boxes.

Sign up using the following links to our 2 online Doodle calendars. 

  • One calendar is for Sorting Shifts, the other is for Booksale Shifts/Set up/Take Down.
  • Tip: Open up Table View. Input your name, scroll over and select your shifts, and scroll over to the right, click Save.
  • To change or add shifts: Go in again, hover over your name: select the Edit/Pencil tool, click the shift and make sure to scroll to the right and click Save. Make as many changes as you want.

All proceeds go to Oakville Literacy Council, a non-profit organization providing tutoring to adults in reading, writing, basic math and computer use. For more information, visit www.oakvilleliteracy.ca
