Two Journalism Broadcast projects by Sheridan students have been awarded Broadcast Educators Association of Canada (BEAC) Awards. The BEAC National Student Awards Program recognizes and rewards the unique combination of creativity and technical excellence demonstrated by students in radio, television/video, and new media taught in the BEAC member institutions. This year, more than 150 entries were put forward by colleges and universities from across the country.

Ike Rai, Corin Thompson and Eddie Crampton were awarded Best Short Documentary for “Life in a Cab.” You can view their documentary here: http://www.eyeonsheridan.com/life-in-a-cab/.

Farah Quraishi won Best Long Documentary for Chand sa Chehra (As beautiful as the moon). View Farah’s documentary here: http://www.eyeonsheridan.com/chand-sa-chehra-as-beautiful-as-the-moon/

Both projects were supervised by Catharine Tamas, documentary professor.

On Friday, May 23, the President’s Awards, recognizing the best video and audio recipients from this year, will be presented at the Awards Gala at the BEAC Professional Development Conference. The gala will be live streamed from Niagara-on-the-Lake. For more information, click here.
