Effective Tuesday, July 15, Microsoft Office 2013 will be made available to Sheridan staff and faculty for use on their College workstations. This updated suite of software includes:
- Word 2013
- Excel 2013
- PowerPoint 2013
- OneNote 2013
- Outlook 2013
- Publisher 2013
- Access 2013

Getting Office 2013
Sheridan Employees
- Both Microsoft Office 2010 and 2013 will be made available on all lab computers and classroom podium PCs before the beginning of the Fall term.
- All Sheridan employees can download Office 2013 via AccessSheridan (look for the link “software installation” under the heading “Software for Sheridan Laptops & Workstations”) https://access.sheridaninstitute.ca
- Home use versions of Office 2013 can be purchased at a discounted price from OnTheHub (formerly e-academy). Go to AccessSheridan https://access.sheridaninstitute.ca and look for the link “OnTheHub Software Acquisition” under the heading “Discounted Software for Sheridan Staff”.
Sheridan Students
- Office 2010 and 2013 will be available on Windows-based computers in Sheridan’s computer labs and Learning Commons. Upon logging in to the computers in the Learning Commons, students will be able to select the use of either Office 2010 or 2013. This is made possible through the use of technology known as virtualization.
- Students can download Office 2013 from OnTheHub for free for use on their own computers
Support for Office 2010 Ending in August 2015
Sheridan will be ending support for Office 2010 at the end of the 2014/15 academic year (August 2015). Faculties with curriculum tied to Office 2010 are advised to ensure that courses are updated to support Office 2013 for the start of the 2015/16 academic year (September 2015).
