Library and Learning Services is very happy to announce that Karen Lints is the new FAHCS Liaison Librarian.  She will be based out of Davis campus.

Karen started her career at Sheridan in May 2011 as a Library Technician assisting our students with their research queries at our busy Davis Commons.   From May 2013 to May 2014, Karen took on a contract position as the Applied Health and Community Studies Liaison Librarian.  In this role, she designed and provided information literacy workshops to help student do effective research and evaluate information resources.  An early adopter of technology, Karen eagerly explored video creation tools and multimedia software to create engaging instructional material for students. She also supported students by creating research guides to assist students in navigating the key resources for specific FAHCS programs and through one-on-one consultations about their research projects.   Karen may be described as a keen collaborator who has a history of working well with the others including multiple presentations with the Learning Centre about Academic Integrity initiatives. Throughout her year contract at Sheridan, she gained experience with program reviews and PEQAB library tours.   Karen has ties with the local community and worked as a Librarian with Peel Children’s Aid and as a Library Assistant with Oakville Public Library.

Karen has an Honours Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Information from the University of Toronto.

Please join us in welcoming Karen to her new role.
