I am pleased to announce the appointment of Joseph Varrasso, Associate Dean for the School of Applied Computing at the Trafalgar Campus in the Faculty of Applied Science and Technology.
Joe has been teaching at Sheridan in Applied Computing for the past four years and has recently served as the Program Coordinator for the Computer Systems Technology – Software Development and Network Engineering program. He has contributed to several initiatives at Sheridan including the launch of Capstone Based Learning in the Systems Analyst (SA) program, the adoption of MyProgrammingLab in the Java curriculum and the launch of the FAST International Peer Mentoring program.
Joe has also been working on Applied Research projects since 1990. He has contributed to several complex, multidisciplinary projects including stabilized camera systems for US Navy surveillance aircraft, chemical detection systems for the US Pentagon and Homeland Security, mass spectrometer systems for the pharmaceutical industry and train control systems for the Vancouver SkyTrain. He has also contributed to Applied Research projects at Sheridan.
