Some important renovations will be taking place at our HMC Campus during the period of September 10 to December 1, 2014.
The ultimate goal of the project is to bring a new Student Health and Wellness Centre to our Mississauga Campus. Located on the main floor, adjacent to the elevators, the Centre will provide walk-in health care services to our student population. The Centre will be staffed with a full-time nurse and part-time support personnel as well as a part-time physician who can be seen by appointment. The Centre will contain two exam rooms, one sick/rest room, and one assessment/treatment area. A range of health-related services and information will be available including first aid, birth control, flu shots, and low-level treatment. The Centre will also host health awareness campaigns to promote well-being.
During the construction, the following services will remain open: A130 quiet/pray room, A130a footbath, and A136 bookstore, however, the quiet room and footbath will transition to new spaces in the vicinity, as work progresses. The A132 first-aid room and A134 barrier-free washroom will be open during the first phase of the construction, but closed in early October through to project completion. On-site signage will help to communicate the new room locations, build awareness about the new Centre and update our community about the progress of the project or any potential unexpected delays.
