The collective energy-saving initiatives that are known at Sheridan as Mission Zero have received FMXcellence recognition. The FMXcellence program is run by Building Operating Management magazine and was created to acknowledge facilities management teams that apply best practices and innovation to meet the priorities of organizations. Sheridan’s Facilities Operations and Facilities Services teams as well as the Office for Sustainability worked and continue to work collaboratively to carry out the broad program of institutional change. Past FMXcellence honourees include The George Washington University, the Smithsonian Institute and the Texas Children’s Hospital.
