On Thursday, December 18 from 10 p.m. until midnight, IT staff will be replacing two off-lease network distribution switches in the Trafalgar data centre with new equipment. The new switches offer more efficient power consumption (in keeping with the College’s sustainability goals) and will allow us meet future demands for increased network bandwidth.
Wireless Networks will be Unavailable
Wireless connectivity will not be available from any area of the Trafalgar Road campus during the upgrade period.
Other Network Services Impacted
As the majority of the campus’s network services run through the switches being replaced, the following services will also be unavailable while the equipment is being swapped out:
- Wired networks
- Internet connectivity
- Telephone service
The services listed above will be unavailable from the following campus locations:
- A; AA; B; C; D; and E Wings
- Annie Smith Building
- Athletics Building
- Student Residence (building 1)
