In response to issues presented by the late arriving international students, International Services, Student Services, Library and Learning Services and Faculty partners have come together to provide some additional transition and orientation support. This is in addition to some of the programming students may have received pre-departure or through webinars conducted by International Services.
Newly arrived students will be made aware of the sessions when they present themselves on campus to International Services. More information to the community will come via the Sheridan Insider and other channels.
1. Beginning on Tuesday, September 3rd through to Friday, September 13th there will be a daily one hour session from 5pm-6pm dedicated to assisting students to better acquaint themselves with Sheridan, learn about supports and services, become acquainted with academic policies and Sheridan procedures. Students will also be receiving a presentation on academic adjustment and expectations from our Faculty representatives. A schedule of these sessions is attached.
2. An additional International Student Orientation will take place on Saturday, September 14th beginning at 10am for all late arriving international students at the Davis Campus. Students from Trafalgar and HMC will be bused to the Davis Campus. The event will take place in the Den. International Services and Student Services are collaborating on this activity, similar to our previous orientation and transition activities.
