Todd Barsanti, 2D Design Professor in the Art Fundamentals program, attended the Climate Reality Leadership Training this summer in Chicago, with former U.S. Vice-President Al Gore. Todd was trained in an updated version of the PowerPoint presentation most of us would have been introduced to in the 2006 movie An Inconvenient Truth. Since completing the training, Todd is committed to working with anyone in the Sheridan community who feels they would benefit from the presentation.

In addition to 20 years of graphic design industry experience, Todd has a Master’s degree in Environmental Studies and his current pedagogical focus is on integrating sustainability issues into curricula. In this capacity, Todd will be working with Sheridan’s Office of Sustainability to set up workshops and sessions around this topic for faculty members who are interested in finding out how they might have sustainability play a more key role in their own classrooms and course content. The goal would also be to introduce faculty to Sheridan’s Mission Zero Sustainability initiatives as possible capstone project opportunities.  Announcements on this will be forthcoming.

In the meantime, please contact Todd directly if you are interested in having the Climate Reality presentation given to your Faculty, your department, or even within your classrooms. Todd can be available to come into your classes as a guest speaker and can customize the presentation to run anywhere from 15 minutes to two hours.

Todd can be reached at todd.barsanti@sheridancollege.ca or at extension 8509.
