Effective immediately, IT has made available new VPN* client software – Cisco AnyConnect. Cisco AnyConnect provides users with a robust and highly secure VPN client experience that is much easier to use and more stable than our previous VPN client offerings.
The new software is available for download via AccessSheridan. For download, installation and usage details please see the VPN Client Guide on the IT website.
* A Virtual Private Network (VPN) is a network technology that creates a secure network connection over the Internet enabling remote users to securely connect to a private network.
Old Versions of VPN Software
On March 2, 2015 legacy versions of VPN software will no longer be supported, nor will they function in Sheridan’s network environment; this also includes the VPN functionality available via Mac OS X (through either IPSec or Cisco IPSec).
