As midterms and reading week approach, professors will be aware of students in their classes who may not be performing to their best ability, and may be in need of assistance. As part of supporting student success and development, now is the time to identify those experiencing challenges and refer them to Student Advisement.
We specialize in helping those who are struggling with their studies or with the adjustment to college. We can work with students to:
- investigate why students are experiencing difficulties,
- discuss strategies to improve learning and referral to additional campus resources
- provide a step-by-step student success action plan for them to follow.
Our goal is to put students on the right track while there is still time to turn things around, but we can also talk to them about their options so as to empower them to be successful at Sheridan. Please take a few minutes to remind students about our services and refer them to our offices: Davis B230/HMC Welcome Desk/ Trafalgar B104 (also for STC students).
If you have any questions about our services, or would like to arrange special supports, please contact Joe Henry at joe.henry@sheridancollege.ca (or extension 5517) or visit Student Advisement yourself. We’re always happy to help!
