Three of Sheridan’s campuses have been recognized by Metrolinx for providing employees with enhanced commuting activities and resources. HMC received the Smart Commute Silver Workplace Award while both the Davis and Trafalgar campus were honoured with the Smart Commute Gold Workplace Award.
Smart Commute is a GTHA-based program that helps commuters explore greener commuting options with a user-friendly online ridesharing tool. Smart Commute Silver Workplace status is granted to workplaces that provide enhanced commuter options for their employees and are willing to invest effort and resources to implement relevant programs. Smart Commute Gold Workplace status is granted to outstanding workplaces that demonstrate innovation, focus on measuring their success and achieve significant positive outcomes and demonstrated success in convincing their employees to choose other ways to get to work than driving alone.
Each time you take the Sheridan Shuttle, tap your Presto card, cycle or walk to work, or take turns behind the wheel with your carpool buddies, you are taking a significant positive step to improving your well-being, decreasing road congestion, and helping the environment. The Sheridan community has a lot to be proud about as we continue to make impactful strides towards establishing our own unique sustainability culture.
