The First Year Library Team is hosting an Exam Jam on Wednesday, November 25th at the HMC campus from 10-4:00pm.
What is an Exam Jam?
An Exam Jam is an event that combines academic study sessions with fun, stress-relieving activities for students. We launched Sheridan’s first Exam Jam in December of last year with great success. Click here for a recap of the event.
We’re looking for faculty help.
The First Year Library Team wants to engage our first-year students as they enter into exams by providing academic support via course study sessions. We are looking for faculty volunteers to run study sessions for any course at the HMC campus.
The courses we have on the agenda so far include:
- MATH 16269 – Business Math 1
- ACCG 16971 – Accounting 1
- MATH 29875 – Statistical Methods and Analysis
- ACCG 23626 – Cost and Managerial Accounting 1
- APPL 19402 – Computer Applications for Business
- ENGL 17889GD – Composition and Rhetoric
- MATH 1000D – Business Calculus and Algebra
- MATH 2000D – Business Statistics
- ACCG 12000D – Financial Accounting
- ACCG 22000D – Managerial Accounting
These sessions will serve as a general exam-prep for students. If you teach one of these classes or another first-year course and think your students would benefit from a general study session, please volunteer.

Sheridan’s Exam Jam
In addition to study sessions, the opportunity for students to have some fun through the creation of appreciation cards, some short physical exercise activities, healthy snacks and more will be available. There will also be workshops on taking multiple choice and long/short answer exams, as well as citation and APA Style. If you have ideas for an activity or want to help out in some way, please get in touch.
