Do you ever wonder…what demographic trends affect business? Why school enrolments decline in some areas and grow in others? How is the job market changing due to demographics?
This workshop being offered through the Faculty of Continuing and Professional Studies explores demographic trends in Canada and their impact on businesses, careers, public policy, and the economy.
Twenty years ago, demographers alerted us to increasing pressures on health care and the real estate boom. This workshop explores the latest demographic trends that will affect your future over the next twenty years.
Through graphical presentations, guided analysis, and interactive group discussions and activities, you will learn of demographic trends such as the changing age structure, population growth, patterns of migration, and family and household composition.
This exploratory workshop introduces and develops skills and abilities to identify and access sources of demographic information, interpret, analyze, and explain demographic data, plus identify demographic trends which can be applied to your career, business, and life planning.
This Workshop is facilitated by Margot Almond, M.Sc. Demography, B.A. Sociology, whose career includes progressive roles within Ontario Ministries including Aboriginal Affairs, Finance, and Attorney General, and within the Management Board Secretariat.
