(Updated March 15th) Elections will be held for vacant Senate positions representing the Full-Time Faculty constituencies from April 8, 2016 to April 18, 2016. Elections are held to fill positions vacant due to Senators’ membership term expiry. Each constituency will have the opportunity to elect their own representatives to Senate for a three year term of office: September 1, 2016 to August 31, 2019. Electronic voting only will be available to eligible* constituent members from 9:00 a.m., Friday, April 8, 2016 to 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 18, 2016 at which time voting access will no longer be available. Voting takes place through Access Sheridan.
- The following are the minimum numbers of Full-Time faculty positions open for election:
- Faculty of Animation, Arts and Design – 3 faculty Senators
- Faculty of Applied Health and Community Studies – 3 faculty Senators
- Faculty Applied Science and Technology – 2 faculty Senators
- Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences – 1 faculty Senator
- Pilon School of Business – 2 faculty Senators
- Student Services Counselling – no opening (corrected from earlier information)
- Library and Learning Services – no opening
*eligible constituent members are all current full-time faculty within the Faculties.
Call for Nominations
Nominations for elected Senate members will be accepted by the Secretary of Sheridan Senate until 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 24, 2016. Full-time professors or faculty in their respective Faculty constituencies may declare their candidacy by completing and submitting the Senate Membership Nomination Form. Documentation related to the election process can be accessed through the Sheridan web site, constituency offices, or the Secretary of Senate. Note: each candidate standing for election requires a Nominator and a Seconder from their own constituency.
Election Timeline Summary:
- Nominations will be accepted until 1:00 p.m. March 24, 2016
- Candidate names in each constituency will be posted by Monday, March 28, 2016
- Elections open April 8, 9:00 a.m. to April 18, 1:00 p.m., 2016
- Successful candidates will be announced on April 19, 2016
Elections for Non Full Time Faculty Senators: (updated)
Each Faculty has one Non-full-time faculty Senator position and elections will be held during the March/April time period for NFT faculty positions in the following Faculties: Applied Health and Community Studies, Humanities and Social Sciences, Applied Science and Technology. Elections will be held through the individual Faculties amongst the NFT faculty members. Please contact your Faculty administrative office for further information.
