Thank you to the participants that persevered through the technical glitch to take part in last week’s wellness webinar, Healthy Active Living. My sincere apologies to those that couldn’t connect. We’ll be sure to have them resolved for next time.
The interactive presentation and chat format with question and answer sessions has promise in providing good wellness information to Sheridan employees. There are 3 more scheduled for this year:
- Creating Balance in Your Life (June 8, 2016)
- Stress Reduction Techniques (October 5, 2016)
- Getting Restful Sleep (November 9, 2016)
All sessions will run from 12-1pm. Look for details in the weeks prior to the event.
In the meantime, did you know that a wealth of Health & Wellness-related materials and resources can be accessed directly through Sheridan’s own Library and Learning Services? A great place to start for online learning is the newly-created Wellness Resources Guide, where you’ll find access to books, database collections, streaming videos, and links to websites that are sure to pique your interest and get you thinking about health and wellness in new ways! The following databases are a mere sampling of what you’ll find in this resource-rich Guide:
- Health & Wellness Resource Center – Includes almost 400 journals, 700 health-related videos, articles from 2,200 magazines, and a broad collection of Gale reference titles
- Health Source: Consumer Edition database– Houses over 75 full-text health magazines, 100 reference books, pamphlets, and over 13,000 Clinical Reference Systems reports geared to the general public
- Primal Online Learning – Provides 19 modules with clear 3D images and interactive models, narrated animations and illustrations, dissection slides you can label, clinical case studies, the impact of aging on each body systems, pronunciation guide, quizzes and much more.
