Hi everyone,
If you are working or visiting Trafalgar B Wing, you might have noticed the new Zero Waste bins in the hallway and Cafeteria area. As part of the Zero Waste Bin Pilot program, below are a few changes for those of you whose offices and classrooms are located in this area:
- The waste bins in your office has been replaced by a smaller black bin. You will be responsible for emptying your office waste bins (blue and black) into the Waste Bins located at the kitchenettes/printrooms near your office.
- Garbage bins have been removed from washrooms where hand dryers are provided. Zero Waste bins are located right outside the washrooms for your use if needed.
- Garbage bins have been removed from the classrooms. Zero Waste bins are located in the hallway near the entrance of the classrooms. Faculty, please encourage the students to leave any waste they have at the Zero Waste bins outside the classroom.
Some signage will be posted near the Zero Waste bins soon. And the list of the common items of organics/mixed recycling will be distributed as well. For your quick info, paper coffee cups should go to Organics and Composting bin (green) and coffee cup lids should go to Mixed Recycling bin (blue). For sandwich wrappings, if the paper has wax on it, they should go to Landfill. For soiled paper towels and facial tissue paper, they should go to green bin.
Your support in this program will help Sheridan to meet its waste reduction targets. As we are launching this Pilot, your feedback will help us improve the program. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or comments.
