After a very successful first year, the Community Garden Committee is excited to share the next phase of the Trafalgar garden, but we need your help! This is a call out for volunteers for Wednesday November 2nd to help get Phase 2 underway.

Sample of the Fall Harvest (Okra, bell peppers, tomatoes, Asian eggplants, cayenne peppers, yellow eggplants)
Phase 2:
To be completed by Spring 2017, phase 2 will ensure the garden is a more permanent and welcoming area for the Sheridan community to enjoy. It will include 3 raised beds and in-ground beds with the goal of having a mix of perennials (herbs, berries) and dedicated space for community members to take ownership of part of the garden to plant, tend and harvest vegetables of their choice. The centre of the garden will include a pollinator patch in order to attract and support native pollinators (bees, beetles, butterflies). There will be meandering paths throughout the garden to help support a quiet and reflective area to allow people to use the garden as a meditation or quiet space. Utilizing the garden space for meditation is in collaboration with the President’s Wellness Challenge group (Basil Joseph & Alyse Nishimura).
