I am pleased to announce the following new members of the Pathways team.

Ailsa Goncalves will be assuming the role of Project Manager, School-College-Work-Initiative (SCWI), and will be managing all projects related to SCWI beginning the week of February 20, 2017.  Ailsa joined Sheridan in 2007 as the Assistant to the Dean, Centre for Teaching and Learning where she was responsible for the operations of the department and gained extensive experience in budget planning and project management.  More recently, she moved into the role of Assistant to the Vice Provost where she supported a number of Sheridan committees and projects.  Prior to joining Sheridan, she was responsible for the administration of a government funded “Training for Work” program at the University of West of Scotland that was aimed at helping unemployed adults develop skills for re-entering the work environment.  Ailsa holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and is in the process of completing a certificate in Project Management.

Melina Elia has assumed the role of Pathways Initiatives Coordinator for the Academic Pathways and Partnerships department, and will be supporting various internal and external related pathway activities on behalf of the College.  Melina joined Sheridan early this month, and prior to arriving at Sheridan, Melina worked for six years at The Career Foundation, a not-for-profit employment organization funded by the government which support job seekers and employers in the Greater Toronto, Peel and Hamilton-Wentworth regions. During her time there, Melina assumed the role of Project Coordinator for three youth programs including: Career Focus for post-secondary graduates, the Horticultural Technician Pre-Apprenticeship program, and the Youth Job Link program. Outside of the organization, Melina also acted as Treasurer for Hamilton’s Youth Employment Network for 4 years.  Melina has a Bachelor of Commerce degree and is working towards her Certificate of Competency in the French Language.

Please join me in welcoming both Ailsa and Melina in their roles!
