I am very pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Michael Allcott as the new Dean, International.
Dr. Allcott has been an international educator for more than thirty years, most recently serving as Director of the International Program at Trent University. Past roles have included Head of Champlain College and Associate Registrar, at Trent, and Associate Director of the International Centre at the University of Utah, where he designed and taught “Writing in the Global University” in the Honors Program. Dr. Allcott has also taught at the University of Buffalo (SUNY), where he completed his Ph.D.
A creative leader, and strategic thinker, Dr. Allcott served as a member of the Council of Ontario Universities’ Internationalization Working Group and has held leadership roles in NAFSA, the world’s largest non-profit, dedicated to building a more interconnected, peaceful world through international education.
Known for keeping students and student leadership at the centre of the educational mission, as well as instilling the value of friendship across cultures in all aspects of the learning community, Dr. Allcott brings with him, a renewed strategic focus to Sheridan’s internationalization efforts.
He earned his Ph.D., (English) at the University at Buffalo (SUNY), and holds a Master of Arts (English) as well as a Bachelor of Arts (English, Classics, Creative Writing) from the University of Utah.
Dr. Allcott and his partner are the parents of twin girls, and the entire family looks forward to being part of Sheridan’s vibrant communities.
We look forward to welcoming Michael to Sheridan on March 13.
