Vote for Sheridan-affiliated projects in the running for the William G. Davis Innovation Fund

Full-time students and alumni of Ontario’s 24 public colleges are eligible for the William G. Davis Innovation Fund in honour of the system’s 50th anniversary. The fund supports innovative thinking and initiatives from aspiring visionaries, artists, humanitarians and entrepreneurs who want to leverage their college education to start something amazing.

Five entries connected to Sheridan are in the running for the $15,000 first prize and $5,000 second prize and votes from the public will be part of the criterial used by a panel of judges to determine finalists. The first round of online voting is now underway and closes July 31. Finalists will be announced on August 15.

To vote:

  • Visit http://amazing50.ca/innovationfund/
  • Click “Register today!” and enter your information. A confirmation email will be sent to the inbox of the email you entered.
  • Verify your registration by clicking the link in the email.
  • Return to the site and login.
  • Place your vote by selecting “click here to like this idea” below each project description. Only one vote per project is permitted.

The Sheridan-affiliated projects include:

  • Dash MD – a mobile patient experience platform that provides patients with the tools and resources they need to help themselves manage their care and successfully transition back into the community after a hospital visit.
  • Be Informed – a student-run space on campus where students can learn about sexual health, healthy relationships, self-care and other related topics.
  • Motify – a virtual assistant intended to help individuals on the autism spectrum throughout their life, which changes and adapts as users learn and grow.
  • Young Women in Business – a project that focuses on fun and interactive workshops with the intention of bringing awareness to the various roles of women in business.
  • Project L.I.F.E. – Enactus Sheridan’s Project LIFE – Literacy in Financial Education – is a module and workshop-based program that covers the topics of budgeting, taxation and credit & debt.
