Faculty Development (CTL) is thrilled to announce a new teaching and learning series, spark TALKS, launching this fall. In collaboration with the Scholars & Creators Hub at Sheridan Library, this new series is meant to spark ideas, critical inquiry, and collaboration through TALKS (Teaching and Learning Knowledge Sharing).
The series will kick off October 24th – 26th when faculty and staff will have the opportunity to attend sessions, from both internal and external facilitators, which highlight new and innovative approaches to some of our most relevant teaching and learning topics. This week in October will follow with monthly sessions from our learning community to foster communities of practice, strengthen discussions in teaching and learning, and provide a space for the exchange and creation of new ideas and innovations in our courses.
Please stay tuned for further details for October; in the meantime, we are pleased to announce two external guests who are excited to help us kick off the series:
Dr. Nicola Simmons (Brock University) and Dr. Greg Evans (University of Toronto).
Both Nicola and Greg are this year’s 3M Teaching Fellows award winners, demonstrating passion and innovation for active, inclusive, and scholarly pedagogy in education and in engineering science, respectively.
