Sheridan Reads returns this spring for another communal reading initiative, this time centred on the acclaimed bestseller by Tracey Lindberg, Birdie.
Informed by the lore and knowledge of Cree traditions, Birdie is a darkly comic and moving first novel about the universal experience of recovering from tragedy. At heart, it is the story of an extraordinary woman who travels to the deepest part of herself to find the strength to face the past and to build a new life.
Birdie is a national bestseller, winner of the OLA Evergreen Award, winner of the KOBO Emerging Writer Prize, a 2016 Canada Reads finalist, Georges Bugnet Award for Fiction finalist and was included on the International DUBLIN Literary Award longlist.
Join us on March 27 in the Creativity Commons at HMC for an evening of conversation and creativity as part of the Creative Campus Series. Reception commences at 6:30 pm, with the formal programme beginning at 7:00 pm, to be followed by Q&A and book signing.
Sheridan Reads is also excited to announce that the first 100 attendees to arrive at the event’s welcome desk that evening will receive a complimentary copy of Birdie – we hope to see you there!
