It is with great pleasure that I advise you that Connie Taylor is joining the Pilon School of Business as our new Operations Manager. Currently, Connie is the Operations Manager in the Faculty of Health and Community Studies and will join our administrative team in August with the retirement of Charlene Craddock.
Connie first joined Sheridan in 2005 as a Training Coordinator with Sheridan Corporate and since then has worked in five departments and faculties in progressively challenging roles as a Scheduling Associate, Academic Portfolio Administrator in FAST and FAAD, and for the last three years as the OPS Manager in FAHCS.
Along the way she was a part-time instructor in Continuing Education and taught Accounting Software Applications, General Ledger, Accounts Payable and Receivables, Inventory, Financial Statements and Personal Income Tax generation.
Connie holds an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfred Laurier University and a Master of Arts in Integrated Studies from Athabasca University. She’s also done the Fundamentals of Teaching and Learning at Sheridan and is a True Colors, certified level I instructor.
I am also pleased to announce that Cathryn Oliver is joining our PSB leadership team as the Associate Dean of our portfolio of programs in advertising and marketing, effective the end of August.
Cathyrn is currently the Program Coordinator for the Advertising and Marketing Communications diploma and advanced diploma programs. She first joined Sheridan in 2010 as co-lead of the Business of Aging Information Exchange Network (BAIEN) of the Sheridan Elder Research Centre.
Since then she has been a partial load professor becoming a full professor and then coordinator in PSB. Cathryn understands the challenges facing the rapidly changing face of advertising and marketing and will help shepherd us through this period of change.
Cathryn brings with her more than 17 years of experience at one of Canada’s largest media organizations, Metroland Media Group, a division of Torstar Corporation. At Metroland she worked closely with advertising agencies and clients in the development and execution of advertising campaigns. Her last role there was as Publisher of divisional business operations and editorial content along with a focus on the development of new media, web properties, consumer shows, corporate and consumer publications.
Cathryn is no stranger to Sheridan. She’s an Honours graduate of the Liberal Arts diploma program and holds a Sheridan Business Management Certificate. She also earned a Master of Science, Marketing, degree from Edinburgh Business School – Heriot-Watt University.
