As promised in our initial recap, we’re pleased to share with you some of the video highlights from the Welcome Back event held on August 29.
As we are marking the 50th anniversary of Sheridan’s animation programs this year, attendees were treated to a compilation video of student work, as well as a special Animation50 reel:
Janet Morrison delivered her inaugural community address as Sheridan’s new President and Vice Chancellor. Her remarks were preceded by a thank you to our faculty and staff. Text of her remarks were provided in our first recap, but you can watch her presentation below:
A recurring highlight of the Welcome Back Breakfast is our video tribute to staff accomplishments:
During the event, the audience was entertained by several powerful performers, including nine-year-old Zoe Brown, who performed the song “When I Grow Up” from the musical Matilda, accompanied by fourth-year Music Theatre student Jill Goranson.
Our keynote speaker was Meagan Johnson, a generational humorist and author who challenges her audience to think differently about how they work with the multiple generations they encounter in the workplace. Her presentation was engaging and entertaining:
In addition, our Music Theatre students provided a thrilling preview of the upcoming Theatre Sheridan season:
Finally, the event closed with a special Mosaic tribute to the Sheridan community, created by the Sheridan Production House (SPH):
Thanks again to the SPH for all of their contributions to this very special event!
