A project produced by Screen Industries Research and Training Centre (SIRT) was recently submitted to the Auggie Awards, the most recognized virtual reality and augmented reality (VR/AR) industry awards.
The Be Curious Avatar Project was created in collaboration with Cream360, the National Science and Engineering Council of Canada (NSERC) and actor Dominic Monaghan. It’s a workflow to bring a real person into a VR environment in a technically efficient way while making their high-fidelity avatars as realistic as possible. For more information about the project, click here.
The Auggie Awards will be celebrated in October at the Augmented World Expo in Munich, Germany. Public votes will decide the finalists, which will be judged by a panel to select the winners. Voting is currently open to the public until October 1.
