Registrar logoThe Office of the Registrar launched the online Advanced Standing application in November 2012 with over 42,500 student requests submitted and processed through this service, resulting in 60,000 course equivalency rules established since its inception. Over the last six years, the online Advanced Standing application has evolved into a full-service Credit Transfer solution that manages both advanced standing and Prior Learning & Recognition requests.

The Office of the Registrar is further expanding the online Credit Transfer system to support Sheridan’s Pathways through the Credit Transfer Institutional Grant (CTIG). The Pathways Project has a number of key deliverables and includes the following phases:

  1. Automate block-transfers for Sheridan’s Degree Completion programs;
  2. Automate the block-transfers of General to Breadth elective(s);
  3. Automate the block-transfers of Diploma to Diploma transfers (‘Heads of’ Agreements);
  4. Identify credit/block transfer opportunities at time of offer

On November 26, the Office of the Registrar launched the first phase that will introduce an automated solution for the processing of our Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) pathway block-transfers for degree completion students.  This new online functionality will provide an enhanced service for students and staff that will support student success at Sheridan by streamlining the existing process by removing the manual intervention required. Block transfers are now automatically applied to the student’s record at the point of matriculation to any of Sheridan’s BBA degree completion programs.
