The Centre for Teaching and Learning would like to announce that after a 36-year career in postsecondary education, John Ferguson is retiring.
John joined Sheridan as a Curriculum Consultant in the fall of 2012 following a 30-year career with the New Brunswick Community College. Prior to joining Sheridan, John was a teacher, program lead, department head, program development dean, curriculum manager, and even held a brief assignment as acting associate vice president.
John’s passion for postsecondary education, dedication to continuous improvement and strong commitment to student success have continued during his six years at Sheridan. He has contributed to the development of many credentials during his tenure at Sheridan and was an active member of several college committees, including Senate and the Academic Policy Committee.
As a result of John’s lead on several major curriculum projects over the past six years, his impact on the advancement of curriculum development at Sheridan College will be evident for years to come. His colleagues will sincerely miss John’s wisdom, kindness, patience and experience. We wish him well in his retirement and all the best with his move to Ottawa to be closer to his grandchildren.
Joan Condie and I would like to thank John for his outstanding contributions to Sheridan. Please join us in wishing John health and happiness in his retirement.
Sincerely,
Agnes Gajewski
