Health and Wellness (NCHA) Student Survey

This winter, Sheridan will participate for the first time in the National College Health Assessment, a nationally recognized research survey that helps colleges and universities in North America collect precise data about students’ health habits, behaviours and perceptions.

The data collected through this survey will provide insights that will assist Sheridan College in its development of a Student Wellness Strategy. Specifically, our objectives include:

  • Identify the most common health concerns affecting our students’ academic performance.
  • Design evidence-based wellness programs to address needs highlighted by the survey.
  • Impact the campus culture by continuing the dialogue about mental health and wellness with students, faculty, and staff.

The survey will launch on January 16 and will remain open until March 31.  While all students have received a communication informing them of the survey, only 10,000 will receive a direct invitation to complete it.  A random sample will be drawn from across all campuses and Faculties to ensure it is representative of Sheridan’s student population.  Those students not selected will have an opportunity to provide feedback through an online form on the Wellness and Counselling website.

It would be greatly appreciated if faculty could assist us by encouraging students to complete the survey or provide feedback on our website. This PowerPoint slide has been created for sharing with students in your classroom.

If you have any questions or would like additional information, please contact Leah State, Manager of Wellness and Counselling, at ext. 2986 or leah.state@sheridancollege.ca
