Last fall we announced the launch of Sheridan’s new Active Shooter Procedure. The updated procedure is based on current research and best practices. It requires everyone to assess their situation and surroundings in order to determine the best course of action for their circumstances.
Mandatory employee training on the active shooter procedure goes live in SLATE for all employees with an active employment contract on January 28, 2019. Employees will receive an automated message with instructions once they are enrolled in the course.
All employees are required to complete this training module (PD 4115), which should take approximately 10 minutes and includes an acknowledgment quiz. This training must be completed within 30 days of enrolment or as soon as possible upon your return to the college if you are on vacation or leave.
The training module includes audio and a transcript. If you need more information about this module, or need information in an accessible format, please contact Emergency Preparedness at beprepared@sheridancollege.ca or by calling ext. 2879.
