Congratulations to the Sheridan Bruins men’s basketball team, who defeated their rivals from Humber 86-70 in the 2019 OCAA Championship Game at Georgian College in Barrie on Saturday! The win marks their 13th provincial title overall, and second in the last three years.
Congratulations are also in order for head coach Jim Flack. With this victory, Jim earned his ninth Ontario crown, more than any other men’s basketball head coach in the 52-year history of the OCAA.
Throughout the four rounds of the OCAA playoffs, the Bruins won all games by at least 11 points, and with an average margin of victory of 21.5. They earned their way into the title game after wins over Algonquin, Fanshawe, and Seneca.
By virtue of this exciting victory, the team will head to the national championship at Langara College in Langley, B.C., which will take place March 14 – 16.
Go Bruins!
