The Fall 2013 term sees major changes to the registration process for courses in the Early Childhood Education and Business Diploma and Advanced Diploma programs.
Employees, who have declared their intent or accepted an offer of admission and intend to take courses as part of these programs, will register using Sheridan’s new Custom Timetable System. Staff members are advised to familiarize themselves with the new procedures and timelines. To avoid delays in your registration, please follow these steps outlined below:
- 1. For each semester you wish to take a course through the tuition subsidy program, you must request an Employment Status Confirmation from the Human Resources department indicating your eligibility for this benefit.
The confirmation request can be made via email at employee.tuitionsubsidy@sheridancollege.ca Please note that the confirmation is only valid for the semester in which it is requested. Registration will not occur until this confirmation has been provided to the Office of the Registrar (OTR). In response to the adjusted registration timeline which is outlined below, please begin this confirmation process now.
- 2. Confirmation of employee eligibility will be provided directly to the OTR typically within 48 hours of the initial request. Please proceed to the Office of the Registrar to pay your employee tuition subsidy fee ($20 per course plus ancillary fees) by the deadline noted on your invoice. Payment of the tuition subsidy fee will allow you to choose your courses online during your enrolment appointment in early August.
Please note that Administrative, Program and Mobile Technology fees will apply to all staff (calculated on a cost per credit) and a first in program, one-time Administrative fee as noted below, will also be charged:
One-Time Administration Fees | |

If you are a part-time staff or part-time/partial load faculty member, on top of the one-time, first in program, and Administration, Program and Mobile Technology Service fees, you will also be required to pay the SSUI Medical and Dental Plan annual fee. For the Fall term, this fee is $240 and coverage runs from September 2013 through to August 2014 and is payable at time of registration. If you have an existing plan and want to opt out, please follow the instructions and deadlines outlined at the following url: www.ihaveaplan.ca A refund cheque will be issued directly to you from StudentCare.
Payment must be done in person at the Office of the Registrar using Debit, Money Order or Certified Cheque. Once you have registered in your course(s), Finance will apply all relevant fees to your account. Your Account Summary can be viewed online through myStudent Centre. Final payment of all outstanding fees will be required by the fourth week of the term.
- 3. Registration in courses that are associated to our Course Based Registration Pilot Project (Business and Early Childhood Education) will be done online through myStudentCentre. Stay posted to myTimetable and continue to check your Sheridan email account to make sure you are aware of important information, guidance and deadlines related to this new service. Enrolment Appointments begin as early as August 12.
