Take Your Kids to Work Day – interest survey

“Take Your Kids to Work” day is an annual, nationwide program that helps Grade 9 students understand the importance of staying in school.  The hope is that these young people will develop an appreciation for their parents’ careers, start exploring career options and gain a better understanding of just how many career choices are open to them. The goal of this program is to give insight into the importance of schools and businesses to promote and support continuous learning and successful transitions into the working world for young people.

Sheridan is proud to be involved in an exciting career exploration activity for our employees’ Grade 9 children.  In the spirit of providing an environment that encourages and stimulates creativity and learning, Human Resources & Organizational Development is pleased to announce that a planning committee has been put together to plan a structured half-day program for “Take Your Kids to Work Day” on Wednesday, November 5, 2014.  This is the perfect opportunity for Sheridan to highlight the range of positions and careers that are available within our own institution but also help to develop an appreciation of a parent’s career.

If you are an employee with a child entering Grade 9 this September and you plan to take your child to work with you on November 5, 2014, we are asking for your input so the planning committee can make this day a success.  Could you please take a few moments of your time along with your child to complete this brief survey by end of day Monday, October 6, 2014.
