It is with great pleasure that I share with you that Matt Rempel is now our new Associate Dean, Student Services: Accessible and Co-curricular Learning.
Matt’s home campus will be HMC and he will be providing leadership to the Accessible Learning, Co-Curricular Record, and Student Leadership and Engagement portfolios. He will also continue to facilitate and support our Student Services Team through a strategic planning process and, with his background in performance measurement, he’ll be helping us to foster an assessment and outcome-oriented culture.
Matt came to Sheridan this past spring, as our Manager, Accessible learning Services. He joined us from the government of Ontario where he led a team of accessibility experts to transform the Ontario Public Service into an accessible service provider, employer, and policy maker. He brings 10 years of experience in leadership roles from the private, public, and non-profit sectors and is a graduate of an Executive MBA with an undergrad from Queen’s University.
Matt is passionate about student success, inclusive and universal design for learning, as well as innovative methods and emerging theories for learning that maximize the potential of technology.
He is eager to get started in his new role and build a career within post-secondary education.
I think Matt will fit into Student Services and the collective Sheridan Team, very well.
Congratulations Matt!
