As HMC 2A continues to take shape, occupants in some classrooms adjacent to the construction site may observe workers completing construction-related tasks. These tasks may include welding, craning of material, and securing steel beams.
The hazards associated with these activities, each of which presents unique safety challenges, are mitigated through various safety practices. Pomerleau, the construction management company responsible for overseeing this project, has been working closely with Sheridan’s Facilities Management and Occupational Health and Safety Services to ensure that Sheridan community members remain safe.
To further inform you about construction safety, we invite you to a Creative Campus Design Talk.
Details:
- Date: Thursday, February 14
- Time: 12 p.m. – 1 p.m.
- Location: HMC, Creative Campus Gallery
During this talk, Pomerleau’s Health and Safety team, Sheridan Facilities Project Managers and Sheridan’s Occupational Health and Safety Services will share more information about the various hazards that you may potentially be exposed to during the construction, such as noise, welding, UV-related exposure and pedestrian safety. We’ll also discuss the measures that are currently in place to keep you safe while on campus.
The Creative Campus Design Talks is a new series of weekly lectures organized by the School of Architectural Technology.
